Paul James Janousek, 67, of Maple Bay, MN, died on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Paul James Janousek was born in Grafton ND, on November 14, 1944, to James and Emma Janousek at the Grafton Deaconess Hospital. He grew up on a farm near Vesleyville, ND. He attended Crookston Ag School in Crookston, MN and graduated from Grafton Central High School in 1963. Paul also attended Techical Training for contracting and construction Grand Forks, ND. Paul married Carol Gorder on August 16, 1969, in St. Johns Catholic Church in Grafton, ND. Paul worked for Hrabek Construction, Grafton, and started his own contracting business in 1969. In 1979, they moved to Maple Bay and continued his construction business in the Maple Bay area. Working with stain glass, gardening vegetables, and raised chickens were pass times Paul enjoyed. By nature Paul was a worker and always had several projects going at one time. He could fix and repair just about anything. He loved working in the yard and keeping busy. Spending time with family, especially with his boys and grandchildren, fulfilled Paul’s life. Paul is survived by his wife, Carol, Maple Bay, MN; sons: Jason Janousek, Fargo, ND, and John Janousek (Lisa Hassel Janousek) Moorhead, MN, and Jeremy Janousek, Staples, MN; and three grandchildren: Cameron, Colton, and Karly Janousek; three sister: Pat Dusek (Greg) Grafton,ND; Jean Clark, Grafton,ND; and Mary Ellen Prewedo (Mike) Moorhead, MN. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Jennifer Janousek, infant grandson, Breyden Janousek, and brother, Ron Janousek.
A private visitation was held on Monday June 11, 2012, at the Erikson-Vik Funeral Home in Fertile MN.
