Jason Lloyd Christianson, 28, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Mentor, MN, died on Saturday, July 14, 2012, due to a traffic accident. He was born on June 21, 1984, to Wyman and Lorna (Solberg) Christianson in Crookston, MN. He attended school in Mentor, Fertile, Minot, ND and graduated from Irondale High School, the class of 2002, in New Brighton, MN. Jason explored many career options in the first years after high school: telemarketing, Honey production, potato processing, tree cutting and landscaping. He eventually was employed in the metal fabrication industry and found his niche. Jason served a four year apprenticeship for the Local #10 Sheet Metal Union. While working in Williston, Jason earned his Journeyman license. He was presently employed by Dakota Metal Fabrication. Jason’s artistic abilities were reflected in the work he did and the art he produced. He could draw blue prints and layouts to be fabricated and installed. Lately, Jason was developing a site on the family farm his family and friends call, “Jason’s Place”. He was an excellent pool player and enjoyed playing darts. Bowling and bonfires with friends and relatives filled some of his free time. Marilyn Monroe couldn’t have had a bigger fan as Jason loved everything about her. Flirting with women and “sleeping in until noon” on days off were activities he greatly enjoyed. Above all, Jason’s willingness to help others in need shined above all else. Jason is survived by his dad, Wyman (Teresa), Mentor; and his mother, Lorna Solberg; Crookston; his grandmother, Mae Christianson, Crookston; grandfather: Elroy Frank (Connie) Palmer, Minneapolis, MN; paternal aunts: Karen (Matt) Lunak, Mentor; and Vonnie Christianson, Crookston; maternal aunts and uncles: Clifford (June) Palmer, Hawley, MN; Charleen (Darin) Bekkedahl, Mentor; Loren Palmer, Spearfish, SD; Brian Palmer, Minneapolis, MN; Jennifer (Patrick) Cross, Fort Collins, CO; Lorena (John) Merseth, Westin, OH; siblings: Eric (Michelle), Crookston; Laura (Brandon) Nienaber, Mentor; Bennie, Mentor; Crookston; Amber Maygra, Fargo; Amanda Maygra and David Maygra, both of Crookston; Samantha (Mark) Skibicki, Mentor; and Racheal Skibicki, Fertile; cousins, nieces, and nephews.
