Conrad Eugene Hassel, 70, Winger, MN, died on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the First Care Medical Center in Fosston, MN. He was born on February 22, 1942, to Sigvard and Selma (Prestegord) Hassel in Fertile, MN. Conrad graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School in 1960. Eleven years later he was united in marriage to Donna Pulver in Winger.
Conrad enjoyed working with his father and brothers, Bobby and Larry, in their family painting business for most of his life. When they were together there was always wit and humor. Conrad had a boisterous laugh that matched his off collar humor. Fitting his Norwegian heritage, Conrad was set in his ways, determined, and a hard worker. His pride and greatest joy was his grandchildren. Conrad was survived by his children: Chad, Gary, MN; Kim Hassel, Crookston, MN; Darin (Danielle), Bismarck, ND; Cory (Jody), Prior Lake, MN; Kristin Hassel, Gary, MN; and Daniel (Brooke), Crookston, MN; Damian and Dalton (Chad); Dillion, Navalyn, Journey (Darin and Danielle); Xander (Cory and Jody); and Trevor (Daniel and Brook); brothers and sisters: Darlene (Truman) Johnson, Dilworth, MN; Sylvia (Boyd) Bratager, Erskine, MN; Larry, Fertile, MN; Judy (Terry) Brevik, Winger, MN; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Donald and Bobby, and sister-in-law: Judy Hassel.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 27, 2012, at 10:30 am in the Erikson-Vik Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 5-7 PM in the Erikson-Vik Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.
Burial will be in the Wild Rice Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN.
